Mooresville is a town in Iredell County, North Carolina. Mooresville is quite popular as it is one of the three towns that surround the beautiful Lake Norman area. It is conveniently located a short 25 miles north of downtown Charlotte.
Mooresville is the home to the corporate headquarters of Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse, and is perhaps best known as the home of many NASCAR racing teams, which earned the city the nickname "Race City USA." It is also home to NASCAR's NASCAR Technical Institute.
Mooresville, NC is also known as Race City, USA. The city is home to more than 60 NASCAR teams and racing related businesses including Dale Earnhardt, Inc., Red Bull Racing Team, and Penske Racing South. Memory Lane Motorsports and Historical Automotive Museum is located in Mooresville, featuring over 100 exhibits and cars from drivers like Dale Earnhardt Sr., Richard Petty, Bobby Labonte, and many more. The North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame is located in Mooresville, and also serves as the town’s official visitor’s center, where you can see Alan Kulwicki’s championship winning 1992 Ford, and Curtis Turner’s famous “Purple Hog, a 1956 Ford race car. The NASCAR Technical Institute is located in Mooresville, along with a NASCAR pit crew training school.
